Moses sent out 12 spies to see what the promised land was like. 10 came back with a bad report, 2 - Joshua and Caleb responded with faith and believed they could overcome the giants: 'they are our bread'. They believed God's promises. The others were fearful and without faith causing a 40 year delay to enter. Let's see our oppositions as an opportunity to be nourished spiritually. "They are our bread"

Jesus was a man of prayer, and never too busy to pray. He went to a solitary place (not with his phone!). God wants to be number one in our lives. As we restore/ get back to/ start a life of prayer then we will see Him answer. We can have confidence that He hears us (Hebs 10:19). There are many examples in the Bible where people prayed and the course of history was changed as a result. e.g. Hezekiah had 15 years added to his lifetime. This will encourage your prayer life.

The Easter morning story told using John 20 The folded head piece separate from the grave clothes was intentional; in Jewish culture you folded your napkin after a meal together and it was a sign that you were coming back for more hospitality at a later date. You were 'coming back'!

Packed with encouragement for us all to vocalise our praise and thanksgiving for 2024. This kind of ministering to the Lord releases guidance, direction and calling. It can release answers to our prayers and miracles. God loves it when we are extravagant in our praise and thanksgiving. In the morning, afternoon, evening, night time, when things are going well, when they're not. when I'm up and when I'm down. The things we've struggled with will no longer affect us in 2024.

Another great talk to build up, strengthen and encourage us as Ephesians sets out to do.

We looked at Acts 19 initially for more context around Pauls 2 years and 3 months in Ephesus. Ephesians is all about building us up in our identity as saints 'in Christ Jesus'. "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight" verse 4. What a mind blowing verse for us all. Tony leads us through to v14 . It's like taking medicine and makes you feel like you should read this chapter regularly but especially when you need some encouragement.

Let's use every opportunity to cultivate intimacy with Jesus just like He did when He fasted . Then we will hear from God, move out with His word to us and not be preaching a Gospel that's acceptable to people but makes those same people acceptable to God. Lots of useful ways here on how to recognise and avoid the type of self preservation that makes us lean towards to the fear of man and not the reverent awe of God. Ephesus wasn't an easy place to be a Christian in those days. There was a lot of opposition

Lots of help for us to know how to develop not just hearing God when He speaks but also, listening to Him.

Planning your Visit

What to expect:

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

Sunday Morning Church is held at the local memorial hall (details below) for our weekly gathering. It's the best way to find out who we are and what we do & you'll be very welcome!  Everything starts at 10am.  When you arrive, you'll be greeted by someone in the foyer who will accompany you to the main hall

We serve excellent tea, coffee and delicious nibbles from 10am and this is a great way to meet people, catch up with friends and  simply take time to find your bearings. It's all free!

Plan your journey:

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop . Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Sunday Morning Church

SMC is our weekly gathering and begins at 10am  when the band leads us in worship . We typically have 3 or 4 songs that  last approximately 15-20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the Bible. Sometimes one of the leaders might share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This is all part of our connecting with God.  One of our leaders will then give a talk that is bible-based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church and finish with more drinks and snacks. We share communion most weeks. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service if you would like that.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • 0-5s - at the back of the meeting room.  There is a generous carpetted area and a wide selection of toys etc. We ask that all children are accompanied by their parent/carer.
  • 6-14s currently all meet together with age-appropriate fun materials used accordingly.
  • Young people (15+ years) Stay in service.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their  groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Whilst you are dropping your kids off at their groups, we pause to take time to chat to someone sitting near or next to us, giving folk a chance to come back before the talk begins.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes if they haven't already come back into the hall.
